Black Dog Syndrome
Have you heard of Black Dog Syndrome? It's the sad and unfortunate fact that black dogs are usually the last to be adopted at a shelter, and are often euthanized first. There are entire websites dedicated to promoting black dogs and keeping the public informed about this issue. If you want to read more, we recommend this article from Bark Magazine or this article from Oregon Live.
Here at no bonz about it we have tons of lucky black dogs! The untrained eye might think they all look the same, but not to us. We thought it might be fun to see if you can find your black dog when faced with many many others... (We apologize if your black dog didn't make it into the collage- we are only using dogs that visited no bonz on Thursday or Friday of this week)
So here are our Friday Photo Collages, a tribute to the black dogs in shelters all over the world...
Can you find your dog?!! Feel free to give it your best guess and leave in a note in the comments or Facebook!
In other news, our food drive has been extended through Wednesday December 21st due to you guys being amazingly generous!!! Three full loads brought over already, with plenty more to go... Thank you!!!!

Friday photo collage numero uno!
We sure do take a lot of photos here at no bonz, and there are always too many to print out, so we are going to share with you some of our extras every week!
Don't forget that there is one more week in our food drive for the Multnomah County Animal Shelter! Help us help the WAY less fortunate dogs and cats out there with canned or dry dog/cat food, dog/cat treats, clean blankets & towels, leashes, collars, crates, etc.
We will be taking donations till noon on Friday, December 16th.

Dog Portrait Paintings
Our monkey mascot, Dexter, recently had his portrait painted by a local artist, Brittney West. The painting was just too adorable not to share with you guys!
It measures only 3" x 3" and comes with its own little easel. She does other sizes also, but we love this little one! Not to mention the fact that we LOVE that 10% of the proceeds from her paintings goes to Multnomah County Animal Services. She has a Facebook page if you're interested in getting your own pet's portrait!

Happy Fall!
It's been a good week here at no bonz about it... The dogs enjoyed the last official week of summer and have taken full advantage of the sunshine!
Best buddies, Biff and Ollie, have now been reunited for good as their schedules are once again in sync!!
In other news, talks have begun about the second annual no bonz about it Halloween Party! The details still need to be worked out, but have no fear, we will be open to keep your dogs out of the candy bowls! Time to start working on costumes, as last year's will be tough to beat!!
Have a wonderful sunny weekend!!

New kids!
We have had several awesome new dogs begin attending no bonz over the last few weeks!
Little Boston terrier, Homer, has been coming for years, but now he has a little sister, Fancy Pants!
A new spaniel, Buddy, made fast friends with a long-time no bonz attendee, Quincy!
The softest German shorthair pointer we have ever met, Liesel, started this week:
Also new this week, a sweet vizsla puppy named Scout! She has quickly befriended Fancy Pants!
And last, but not least, Ava the black lab has a new little brother, Otis!
So many great new dogs!
